These wings and halo help my blind dog ‘see’

When they see her unerringly race after and retrieve a thrown ball, some people find it hard to believe my 15-year-old Golden Retriever, Shakira, is blind. But she is, and her tendency to turn into a furry bumper car in unfamiliar surroundings tells the tale.

I was recently sent a review product called “Muffin’s Halo” to try, and it blew me away enough that it became one of my top new pet products of the year.

The “halo” is a bumper that is attached to the dog’s shoulders with “wings,” and that will take the hit if the dog gets too close to an obstacle.

Of course, I think the local coyotes are pretty sure she’s the Second Coming, or at least a canine angel, but that’s another story!

You can find out more, including how to purchase Muffin’s Halo for your dog, on the company’s website.
